Basketball is a sport that has been around for one-hundred and eighteen years. Making this sport very popular in not only in the United States but everywhere in the world. Basketball originated from a Canadian gym teacher named Dr. James Naismith.  Naismith created this sport for something that his gym could do. With this sport being so popular today, it is becoming more competitive, and the competition level is rising. In society today, March Madness is watched by almost everyone, everywhere. Most people participate in a March Madness bracket, which usually ends up being very exciting. There are five companies that have multiple contracts with not only the NCAA, but the NBA and many other programs regarding basketball. The five companies are Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Under Armor, and Jordan.
